Day 1. Saturday. ARRIVE HANOI
Arrive Hanoi and transfer to your accommodation at Lan Vien Hotel ( similar. Arrivals ebfore 3pm will enjoy dinner tonight at a lovely restaurant overlooking Hoankiem Lake.

Day 2. Sunday. HANOI DEPART(BD)
Sightseeing includes the beautiful West Lake and Tran Quoc pagoda, the oldest in Hanoi and giving a view of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum from the outside. Visit the Temple of Lierature founded in the 11th Century as the first university in Vietnam.Lunch can be a smorgasbord of Vietnamese specialities (own expense) before visiting the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology with its indoor/outdoor display of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups. Board a Xich lo (local version of Tuk Tuk) to explore the narrow alleys and shop houses of the ancient "36 streets' district.After dinner you will be transferred to the railway station to board the overnight train to Sapa. Two berth cabins provided.

Day 3. Monday. SAPA HIKE (BL)
Arrive Sapa early this morning and refresh in the cool mountain air before driving through magnificent countryside to Sapa. Enjoy a trek through Sapa Town, the rice terraces, and meet the local hill tribe people A picnic lunch is included beside a beautiful stream. Return to Sapa and the evening is free. Dinner is not included to give you a choice from the many Vietnamese, western, and street cafe options. Accommodation at Thanh Kim Commune or similar. (

Day 4. Tuesday. SAPA DEPART. (B)
This morning visit the local market and there is an optional 30 minute hike to the Cat Cat village of the Hmong tribe. The afternoon is free to explore at your leisure until you are transferred to the rail station to rejoin your train back to Hanoi.

Day 5. Wednesday. HANOI - HA LONG BAY (BLD)
Arrive Hanoi this morning and after breakfast at a local restaurant enjoy the 3.5 hour drive to beautiful Halong Bay in the Gulf of Tonkin with some 1600 islands and islets. Late morning we join our cruise boat ( and sail early afternoon for Tip Top Island for swimming and snorkelling then on to Cua Van Floating Fishing Village, the largest fishing village in Ha Long Bay. Visit the village by kayak or Sampan. Anchor overnight in Luon Bo area and enjoy dinner on board featuring local seafood.

Day 6. Thursday. HA LONG BAY(BLD)
Continue cruising the beautiful scenery of Ha Long Bay by 'day boat' with the opportunity to kayak, cave explore, and swim. Dinner and overnight on board.

Breakfast and visit Surprise Cave before disembarking late morning and drive back to Hanoi. Dinner own expense and join the overnight train departing 7pm. Two berth cabins provided.

Day 8. Saturday. HUE ARRIVE(BD)
Arrive Hue 7.50am. Enjoy a local Hue breakfast with famous Hue noodles and cakes and enjoy a full day tour of this ancient Imperial capital including the Royal Citadel, a Perfume River cruise with stops at Hon Chen Temple, Thien Mu pagoda, and King Minh Mang's tomb. Enjoy a dinner of local specialities and folk show during a boat cruise. Overnight in Hue at Imperial Hotel or similar (

Day 9. Sunday. HUE - HOI AN (B)
This morning visit King the tombs of King Tu Duc and King Khai Dinh. two of the most typical royal tombs in Hue. This afternoon drive to the ancient heritage town of Hoi An passing picturesque Lang Co Beach and Da Nang. Accommodation at Victoria Hoi An Beach Resort ( or similar.

Day 10. Monday. HOI AN (BLD)
Your guided walking tour will take you along old streets filled with old houses with lanterns and ancient shops. Visit an old merchant home, still lived in by descendents of the original merchant, Hoi An markt, and Quang Dong communal house. Enjoy lunch in an old restaurant with local specialities. The afternoon is free to explore at your leisure. Dinner at the Full Moon restaurant by Thu Bon River.

Day 11. Tuesday. HOI AN - COOKING CLASS! (BL)
Meet at a local cafe and visit the local market to choose your food. Board a Red Bridge Boat for the 25 minute cruise along the Hoi An River to the Red Bridge Cooking school. Explore the cooking school's herb garden before your 2 hour cooking lesson and of course you lunch is the results of your efforts.Time for swimming before returning to Hoi An

Day 12. Wednesday. HOI AN - HO CHI MINH CITY(BD)
Drive to Da Nang and fly to Ho Chi Minh City. Visit the former Presidential Palace, the War Remnants Museum, Notre Dam Cathedral, central Post Office, and Chinatown including the huge Binh Tay wholesale market and sacred Thien Hau Pagoda. Dinner will be of southern Vietnamese specialities. Accommodation at Eden Saigon Hotel or similar (

Day 13. Thursday. HO CHI MINH CITY (BL)
Visit the amazing Great Holy see Temple at Tay Ninh and this afternoon explore the amazing Cuu Chi tunnels constructed by the Viet Cong during the Vietnam war.

Day 14. Friday. MEKONG DELTA - CAN DO (BL)
Enjoy a full day tour to the Mekong Delta driving through the seemingly endless paddy fields. On arrival in cai Be join a boat to cruise to the floating market and through a maze of canals to a large orchard to taste the fruit with time to wander through the village and meet the local people. Overnight in Can Tho at Victoria Can Tho Resort or similar. (

Day 15. Saturday. CAN DO - CHAU DOC (BL)
This morning visit the largest floating market in the Mekong Delta at Cai Rang. Transfer to beautiful Chau Doc Island and you have time to relax and enjoy your accommodation at Victoria Chau Doc resort or similar. (

Day 16. Sunday. CHAU DOC DEPART. (B)
Option 1. Depart at 6.30am and cruise to Phnom Penh arriving 12.30pm
Option 2. Return to Ho chi Minh City for an afternoon or evening flight
