Discover North Korea, its beauty, people, and culture, as it opens to the outside world. Combine the North with the South and discover the differences.
Be among the first to discover the North and South. This tour links to our DISCOVER TIBET AND NEPAL tour and from our MAGNIFICENT CHINA tour. We are hopeful that the political situation may change enough for us to go directly to Seoul from Pyongyang at the end of the tour. If not, we will fly via Beijing if you wish to visit North and South Korea.
Day 1. Saturday BEIJING - PYONGYANG (D)
Transfer to Beijing airport. Depart late morning for Pyongyang. Met on arrival by our local guide then transfer to the hotel Yanggakdo or similar. After check-in depart for a tour of introduction to the city including Mansudae Grand Monument, Fountain park, Tower of Juche etc.
Day 2. Sunday PYONGYANG - MT MYOHYANG (BLD)
More sightseeing including Mangyongdae, city historical remains including the tomb of King Tongmyong. Drive to Mt Myohyang, one of the most beautiful scenic areas of North Korea. Check in to hotel Hyangsan or similar.
Day 3. Monday MT MYOHYANG (BLD)
Visit the International Friendship exhibition, Pohyon temple, and trek in Manpok valley.
Day 4. Tuesday MT MYOHYANG - PYONGYANG (BLD)
Return to Pyongyang to visit Kwangpo Temple, a childrens palace and take a ride on the Metro.
Day 5. Wednesday PYONGYANG (BLD)
Visit the central history museum, an embroidery institute and enjoy a visit to the circus.
Day 6. Thursday PANMUNJOM EXCURSION (BLD)
Our full day tour takes us to Kaesong including a visit to the Panmunjom demilitarised area, Koryo museum, and Tomb of King Wanggon.
Day 7. Friday PYONGYANG (BLD)
Visit the west sea barrage and Moran Park with time to explore on your own.
Day 8. Saturday PYONGYANG DEPART (B)
Transfer to the airport this morning for our return flight to Beijing
