Day 1. Friday. NEW ZEALAND - KOCHI
Depart Auckland or Christchurch with Singapore Airlines transferring at Singapore to our flight to Kochi arriving late evening. Transfer to Le Meridien Hotel.
Day 2. Saturday. KOCHI - KUMARAKOM (B)
Tour Kochi this morning including Mattancherry Palace built by the Portuguese in 1555, Jewish Synagogue built in 1568, St Francis Church built in 1503, unique fishing village using nets introduced from China 1000 years ago, and Santa Cruz Basilica. This afternoon drive to Kumarakom, a tiny hamlet on the banks of the Vembanadu stretch of backwater which covers over 900 sq km. Accommodation at Coconut Lagoon hotel. This evening enjoy a Kathakali show.
Day 3. Sunday. KUMARAKOM HOUSEBOAT CRUISE (BLD)
Free morning to explore at your leisure before boarding our air conditioned houseboats on which we will stay overnight as we cruise through Vembanad Lakeand enjoy the immense natural beauty and life in the maze of lakes, rivers, and lagoons of the backwater, on our way to Alleppey. Also enjoy the diverse animal and prolific bird life of the area.
Day 4. Monday. ALLEPPEY - KOCHI - NEW DELHI (B)
We disembark mid morning. Transfer to Kochi and fly north to New Delhi, capital of modern India. Transfer to Qutab or Hans Plaza Hotel. Passengers on the 13 night option (excluding Kerala) depart Auckland or Christchurch this afternoon and arrive Delhi late this evening.
Day 5. Tuesday. NEW DELHI (BD)
Today we explore 'old Delhi' including the majestic Red Fort, Chandni Chowk, Raj Ghat, and Shanti Vana then on to 'New Delhi' to see Humayans Tomb, India gate, Tughlaqabad Fort, Qutub Minar from the slave dynasty and the lotus shaped Baha'i temple.
Day 6. Wednesday. NEW DELHI - AGRA (BD)
Drive to Agra this morning and this afternoon we tour the amazing Taj Mahal. This evening enjoy a local magic show. Accommodation at Holiday Inn or Mansingh Palace hotels.
Day 7. Thursday. AGRA - BHANDERAJ (BD)
Drive to the perfectly preserved "phantom city" of Fatehpur Sikri, capital of the Moghul empire from 1570 to 1586 and then abandoned. Explore the city and drive on to Bhanderaj. Accommodation at the 25 room heritage hotel Bharadwati Palace with its blend of Mughal and Rajputana architecture. We explore the nearby village and take a camel cart ride through the village. This evening enjoy a Rajasthani folk dance show.
Day 8. Friday. BHANDERAJ - JAIPUR (BD)
We drive on through rural countryside and local villages and towns to Jaipur, capital of Rajasthan. Accommodation at The Raj Palace Hotel.
Day 9. Thursday JAIPUR (BD)
This morning we explore the amazing Amber Fort, cenotaphs of the Royal family, and Jal Mahal Palace. This afternoon we explore Jaipur including the old city with its forts, embattled walls, and latticed windowed houses.
Day 9. Saturday. JAIPUR - BIKANER (BD)
Drive to Bikaner. We explore this Royal walled city which is part of the desert tourist triangle, and was founded in the 15th century.You may end your tour today if you wish driving from Jaipur to New Delhi and departing late evening with Singapore Airlines.
Day 10. Sunday. BIKANER - JAISALMER (BD)
We continue our drive through Rajasthan to Jaisalmer.
Day 12. Sunday JAISALMER (BD)
We explore the imposing 12th century fort, and beautiful Havelis before taking a camel safari to experience the sand dunes of the area.
Day 11. Monday. JAISALMER - JODHPUR (BD)
Drive to Jodhpur, 2nd largest city in Rajasthan, founded in 1459, and situated on the edge of the Thar desert.
Day 12. Tuesday. JODHPUR (BD)
We explore the city including the Mehrangarh Fort, Umaid Bhawan Palace, markets, and gardens.
Day 13. Wednesday. JODHPUR - UDAIPUR (BD)
We drive to Udaipur with a visit to the Rankpur Jain Temple on the way. The temple is the largest Jain temple in India, built in the 15th century.
Day 14. Thursday. UDAIPUR (BD)
Udaipur is renowned as the most romantic city in Rajasthan, surrounded by the hills that encompass Pichola Lake. It is known as the "Venice of the East" and we will explore the lake by boat (water conditions permitting), and visit the colourful Bazaars, City Palace, and Jagdish Temple.
Day 15. Friday. UDAIPUR - NEW DELHI - DEPART (BD)
The morning is free to explore at your leisure. During the afternoon we fly to New Delhi and enjoy dinner and cultural show at a nearby restaurant before rejoining Singapore Airlines departing late evening.

Day 16. Saturday. SINGAPORE - ARRIVE AND DEPART
Arrive Singapore early this morning. Passengers for Auckland have the option of continuing direct to Auckland arriving this evening or staying for the day and departing this evening arriving Sunday morning. Passengers for Christchurch have a free day in Singapore and depart this evening.Why not stayover in Singapore for a few days and/or enjoy a cruise.
Day 17. Sunday. AUCKLAND OR CHRISTCHURCH ARRIVE
Passengers who stopped over in Singapore arrive home late morning.
