Day 1-2. Friday. 20th May, 2011 AUCKLAND - VANCOUVER
Depart Auckland late evening with Air New Zealand for Vancouver. Crossing the dateline means arrival Vancouver same day. We will be met and transfererd to our hotel.
Day 3. Saturday. 21 May. VANCOUVER (B)
Our morning sightseeing includes Downtown, Stanley Park, Gastown, Chinatown, Queen Elizabeth Park, and a ride on the cable car to Grouse Mountain. Free time this afternoon to explore at your leisure.
Day 4. Sunday. 22 May. VANCOUVER - SEATTLE (B)
Drive south to Seattle for an afternoon sightseeing including spectacular views from the Space Needle, and visits to Pioneers Square, and Pike Place Market.
Day 5. Monday. 23 May. SEATTLE - VICTORIA (B)
This morning tour the Boeing factory to see where aircraft are assembled. This afternoon we cruise across Puget Sound to beautiful Victoria for 2 nights.
Day 6. Tuesday 24 May. VICTORIA (B)
Our morning tour includes the inner harbour, Bastion Square, Thunderbird Park and the famed Butchart Gardens.
The afternoon is free to explore at your leisure.
Day 7. Wednesday 25 May. VICTORIA - WHISTLER (B)
Sail through the spectacular gulf islands and across the Strait of Georgia before driving to the famous ski resort of Whistler with time to explore this afternoon and evening.
Day 8. Thursday. 26 May. WHISTLER - SUN PEAKS (B)
Drive through magnificent scenery including part of the Cariboo Wagon Trail and Lilloet - mile O of the Gold Rush Route. Arrive Sun Peaks in time to enjoy the alpine resort.
Day 9. Friday. 27 May. SUN PEAKS - JASPER. (B)More magnificent scenery including majestic Mt Robson (12,970 ft) and arrive Jasper late afternoon.
Day 10. Saturday. 28 May. JASPER (B)
Today we visit beautiful Maligne Canyon and take a cruise on Maligne lake as well as a cable car ride for spectacular views of Jasper and the surrounding mountains - weather permitting.
Day 11. Sunday. 29 May. JASPER - COLUMBIA ICEFIELD - LAKE LOUISE (BD)
A day of magnificent scenery as we drive along the icefields Parkway. Enjoy a snow coach ride on the Athabasca Glacier and see Peyto Lake and Crowfoot Glacier en route to Lake Louise. We stay tonight at the fabulous Chateau Lake Louise on the shores of the lake. Dinner included at the hotel.
Day 12. Monday. 30 May. LAKE LOUISE - BANFF (B)
Free morning to enjoy the quietness and beauty of Lake Louise. Maybe hire a canoe or take a walk along the lake edge. This afternoon we take the short drive into Banff.
Day 13. Tuesday. 31 May. BANFF. (B)
Morning sightseeing includes a gondola ride up Sulphur Mountain and stops at the Hoodoos, Surprise Corner, Bow River and Falls. The afternoon is free with many options available.
Day 14. Wednesday 01 June. BANFF - KELOWNA. (BD)
OPTION 1 - DRIVE TO VANCOUVER VIA KELOWNA
Spectacular drive through the Rocky Mountains crossing the Continental Divide at Kicking Horse Pass. Today we pass through 4 of Canada's most spectacular National Parks - Banff, Yoho, Glacier, and Mount Revelstoke. Arrive Kelowna on the shores of Lake Okanagan late afternoon. Dinner included tonight
Day 15. Thursday 2 June. KELOWNA - VANCOUVER (B)
Drive through the mountain forests and across rich farmland arriving Vancouver late afternoon.
Day 14. Wednesday. 01 June. BANFF - KAMLOOPS. (BLD)
Board the Rocky Mountaineer this morning for one of the great rail journeys of the world. We recommend settling into the Gold Leaf scenic dome car for the best of service, meals, and sightseeing. Cross the Continental Divide and travel through the Spiral Tunnels. Pass through Rogers Pass with its tunnels, snowsheds, and glistening glaciers. Lunch is served on board. Pass Craigellachie where the last spike was driven on the Canadian Pacific railway and late afternoon arrive in Kamloops. Transfer to our hotel and this evening enjoy the included buffet dinner and Two River Junction Musical revue.
Day 15. Thursday. 02 June. KAMLOOPS - VANCOUVER (BL)
Continue through Hell's Gate and the Fraser Canyon then on across fertile Fraser Valley. Late afternoon we arrive in Vancouver and transfer to our hotel.
Day 16. Friday. 03 June. VANCOUVER. (B).
Free time to explore at your leisure before transferring to the cruise terminal to board your luxurious Holland America line cruise ship sailing late afternoon.
We do recommend a balcony cabin to be able to experience all the best of Alaskan sightseeing.
Those on the Rocky Mountains tour option only depart this evening for Auckland arriving sunday morning.
Those who prefer an inside passage cruise only depart this evening (ship to be confirmed mid 2010) retrurning to Vancouver the following friday morning. Depart for Auckland that night arriving sunday 12 June.

A day to settle in and enjoy all the facilities, entertainment, and cuisine of your resort.

Arrive in Seward 7am and disembark after breakfast driving to Portage Lake for a 'small boat' cruise to Portage Glacier. Drive on to Anchorage for a city tour which includes the Alaska Native Heritage Centre and historical parts of the city.
Day 24. Saturday 11 June. ANCHORAGE - DENALI (B)
Transfer to the railway station and board the McKinley Explorer train for our ride into the Denali National Park and transfer to our hotel. Free afternoon to explore and this evening enjoy the rangers introduction to the park.
Passengers on the Rockies and cruise only tour transfer to Anchorage airport and fly home arriving wednesday morning.
Day 25. Sunday 12 June. DENALI - FAIRBANKS. (B)
This morning enjoy a tundra wilderness tour with a local guide and this afternoon reboard the McKinlay Explorer train for our ride into Fairbanks.Transfer to our hotel.
Day 26. Monday. 13 June. FAIRBANKS. (B)
Enjoy our city tour and the sternwheel riverboat "Discovery 3" cruise along the Chena and Tanana Rivers. Also visit the historic Gold Dredge Number 8 site.
Day 27. Tuesday 14 June. FAIRBANKS - DAWSON CITY. (B)
A day of magnificent scenery as we drive along the Alaska Highway and over the "Top of the World" highway to Dawson City. This was the main centre of excitement after the first gold rush strike in the Klondike in 1896 which led to the worlds largest gold rush.
Day 28. Wednesday. 15 June. DAWSON CITY. (B)
A full day to enjoy this exciting Gold Rush town. See Bona nza Creek and claim #1, Robert service's cabin, and a phoostop at the SS Keno, the last sternwheeler to run between Dawson and Whitehorse. Optional (extra expense) entertainment tonight at the Gaslight Follies or Diamond Tooth Gerties Saloon tonight.
Day 29. Thursday 16 June. DAWSON CITY - WHITEHORSE (BD)
Continue driving south to Whitehorse, capital of the Yukon, with a stop at the Five Finger rapids en route. Tonight we enjoy a special farewell dinner and the "Frantic Follies"
Day 30. Friday. 17 June. WHITEHORSE DEPART (B)
Morning sightseeing includes the SS Klondike and McBride Museum. This afternoon we fly to Vancouver to rejoin Air New Zealand for our non stop flight to Auckland. Cross the dateline en route.
Day 31. Sunday 18 June. AUCKLAND ARRIVE
Arrival in Auckland is scheduled for early morning.

Sightseeing today includes downtown, a ride on the famous cable cars, Twin Peaks, Golden Gate Bridge, Fishermans wharf, and a harbour cruise with Alcatraz visit.
Day 32. Sunday. 19 June. SAN FRANCISCO - YOSEMITE VALLEY (BD)
We drive to the magnificent Yosemite Valley and spend the afternoon exploring its forests, lakes, mountains, and waterfalls. Accommodation and dinner within the park
Day 33. Monday. 20 June. YOSEMITE - LAS VEGAS. (B)
We drive to Sacramento, capital of California. Explore the historic part of the city and fly to Las Vegas. We drive along the famous strip and see the magnificent hotels and you have time to take in a show tonight.
Day 34. Tuesday. 21 June. LAS VEGAS - GRAND CANYON (BD)
We drive across the desert and visit Hoover Dam before arriving at the magnificent Grand Canyon, one of the 7 natural wonders of the World. You have time for a scenic flight - extra cost but highly recommended). We stay by the Canyon Rim and an evening stroll along the canyon will be a highlight.
Day 35. Wednesday. 22 June. GRAND CANYON - MONUMENT VALLEY - KANAB. (B)
Drive along the South Rim of the Canyon to the Painted Desert and Monument Valley, land of the Navajo. Enjoy the spectacular landscapes including the Mesas and rock spires. Visit Lake Powell and cross the Colorado river arriving Kanab late afternoon.
Day 36. Thursday 23 June. KANAB - BRYCE CANYON
Today we explore the spectacular Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks with their unique landscapes. Overnight near Zion National Park.
Day 37. Friday 24 June. BRYCE CANYON - LAS VEGAS - LOS ANGELES DEPART. (B)
We drive back to Las Vegas and fly to Los Angeles airport to connect with our overnight flight to Auckland. Cross the dateline
You are welcome to transfer to Anaheim and enjoy all that southern california has to offer.
